You could be a feminist and vote for the BIG DREAMER(obama) but you’d be a stupid feminist.  HIstory will record whether women seized their moment in history..or didn’t.  anyone who thinks that Hillary wasn’t involved in every major decision of the first two Clinton terms....is naive.  Just by being there..Hillary will do more to create work place equity for American women than BIG DREAMER would ever bother to care about.

I was a huge Edwards supporter..don’t assume that I buy the “HOPE, Change..Vision” crap ...obama has voted FOR EVERY SINGLE WAR APPROPRIATION..did you know that?? he wasn’t in congress when the original authorization came around..and so wasn’t put to the test....Edwards and Clinton both voted for it, you know.  You are supporting OBama based on a vote he wasn’t allowed to make..look at the actual record. Rhetoric is fine ..of course and inspirational...all the JFK analogies..jfk was handsome, elegant, had good quotes, made rocking chairs popular, had a wife with a breathy voice and lots of gorgeous couture, made horrible decisions about Cuba and the bay of pigs, black ops in Cuba, multiple mistresses with gangland ties...roman catholic with nothing catholic about him..what exactly did JFK accomplish...a very tarnished record...be careful what you HOPE for.

Ponchatrain...I was a big Edwards supporter and will always be. There is no question that he was the best candidate. If you go back through all the posts about Obama vs. Edwards, you will see that I made the same arguments that you did about why Edwards was the best person to lead the nation and what I felt Obama’s faults were. You will see that I said the exact same thing you did in regards to Obama not being in the Senate at the time of the vote and so it wasn’t a fair test.

But now we’re left with a choice between Hillary and Obama. For me personally, I chose Obama. Hillary voted for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment which I believe was a wrong vote. If Hillary really felt that the votes should be counted in Florida and Michigan, why didn’t she speak up before the elections there? It’s disingenuous. Her win at all costs is the kind of “politics as usual” that I’m tired of. I’m also very concerned about her electability. There are many more reasons why I don’t think Hillary is the best candidate for the Democrats, but I’m pressed for time at the moment (I’m on my break at work). I’m not an Obama “kumbaya” kind of supporter. I’m still grieving over Edwards to be honest. But being out in the community and registering voters (loads of them) and seeing the mass appeal he absolutely has amongst young people, decline to states and republicans, I’ve been amazed and can see what Obama can do for the nation that Clinton can’t. I don’t think the media attacks all those years against Bill and Hillary were fair at all. The attacks were without rationale, were biased, cruel, damaging (I could go on). I don’t want to live the next 4 or 8 years listening to the media slam Hillary on the news every single night...night after night.

We need a change...a change from Bush Sr as VP, then as President, then 8 years of Bill, then 8 years of Bush Jr… Shall we keep this going? Another 8 years of Clinton and then perhaps Jeb Bush and then perhaps Chelsea? When does it end? When did we become this dynasty??? I don’t believe it is healthy for our democracy.

PDA National has endorsed Obama. So has Move-On. I imagine that DFA will be following suit as well as the Progressive Caucus. We’re progressives, we’re realists and we’re not the “kumbaya” crowd.

Anyway, that’s my personal feelings about the two candidates. I realize emotions are running extremely high. As McCain said the other day, maybe we all just need to take a big breath and calmn down a bit.

Are you aware that Obama’s wife Michelle is a lawyer for an Illinois hospital group ....and sits on the board of a food supplier for Walmart???  Do you really expect genuine health care reform from these people??  Why do you think Sheila Kuehl, sponsor of SB 840(real healthcare reform) supports HIllary Clinton???  because she gets it about Obama.
